Silver Contrast allows clients to purchase stunning photographic art work produced by renowned photographer Jim Lowe. The photographs on this site form part of an ongoing series of landscape images depicting the moods and drama of the skies over the British Isles, (especially his homeland of Wales) and parts of Brittany, France

The wide-open spaces provide scenes of strong visual impact and emotion.  Set against a backdrop of spectacular skies these photographs celebrate the relationship between ancient man-made forms such as Silbury Hill and Avebury with the undulating farmland and coastal areas, creating eye-catching and timeless pictures.

The grandeur of nature and quality of light never fails to excite the emotions of the viewer, and this is why startling skies in black and white photographs enhance our perception of the world we live in. Each photograph is a unique moment in time and can never be repeated. With the drama of cloud and a heightened awareness of the landscape one can capture fascinating images of an ageless quality.

These photographs have been produced on Ilford film, using a large format camera and hand printed by Jim onto archival fibre based silver halide paper, which ensures the quality of such fine art photographs.

Jim Lowe, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 2000, is Vice President of the Federation of European Photographers and Chairman of their qualifications board, Fellow and past president of the British Institute of Professional Photography and has had work published in the UK, Europe and the USA. His hand crafted Black & White images have been acquired by collectors as far afield as Japan, India, South Africa, Canada and The Republic of Ireland as well as the UK and Europe.

His work has also been exhibited in London, Moscow,Bath. and Cornwall.
